About

Kyle Ong is a San Francisco Bay Area native who’s passion lies at the intersection of global security and social good. His interests were cultivated through his former role managing Facebook’s 24x7 Global Security Operations Center where he led cross-functional teams in response to physical security incidents impacting people and assets globally. Outside of security operations, Kyle was a program manager for three of Facebook’s user-facing social good initiatives:

  • The AMBER Alerts program which partners with law enforcement agencies across 23 (and counting) different countries to launch child safety alerts on the platform.

  • Safety Check, specifically the 24x7 intelligence analyst cadre that monitor natural disasters and violent incidents to prompt users if they are safe in impacted locations.

  • Health & Blood Banks, the small team of researchers tasked with compiling data of blood donation centers in countries with subpar infrastructure, to help connect users in need of blood with those who are willing to donate.

Kyle received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Relations at the University of California, San Diego and his graduate degree in Criminal Justice, emphasizing Intelligence and Crime Analysis from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
